Climate Challenge Awards Winners 2019
This year, we are honored to recognize the largest group of award winners in the history of the Climate Challenge: over 40 participating institutions from 15 countries. These hospitals, health systems and health organizations are at the forefront of the transformation to climate-smart health care around the world. Our Climate Champions are achieving significant reductions to their carbon footprint, developing low-carbon models of care, adapting to stand resilient to a changing climate and advocating for policies to protect the future health of the planet. As the Climate Champions near their targets and objectives, they are challenging themselves to go further and setting their sights on bold, new objectives. Goals to achieve carbon neutrality and power hospitals on 100% renewable electricity are growing in every part of the world. They are raising the bar and defining what truly climate-smart health care can be. It is this ambition that is driving change in the health care sector and inspiring the movement to grow each year.
