Taichung Tzu Chi Hospital wins the National Healthcare Quality Award in Taiwan

Taichung Tzu Chi Hospital, a GGHH member from Asia, just won the National Healthcare Quality Award in Taiwan for their innovative initiative on Hospital Screening Area for PPE reduction.

In their latest GGHH case study, they document their process and strategy to address the PPE shortage, offering protection to healthcare workers as well as the environment. Since the launch of this new screening area and protocol on 25th March 2020, they have successfully been able to reduce the waste produced per testing by 45-59%.

“This could prevent doing harm to patients, ensure our healthcare workers safety, and also protect our environment,” said the hospital superintendent, Dr. Sou-Hsin Chien.
