This year marks a historic moment for the Health Care Climate Challenge (HCCC) as we celebrate a decade of climate leadership in the global health sector. For ten years, hospitals and health systems around the world have stepped forward with commitment, innovation, and determination to protect both people and the planet.
In this milestone year, we are honored to announce that the Climate Challenge has now grown to over 500 institutions, representing more than 30,000 hospitals and health facilities across 53 countries. This global community continues to demonstrate that health care can, and must, lead the way toward a sustainable, climate-smart future.
We now have the privilege of recognizing health care institutions that reflect this leadership. These hospitals and health systems are implementing low-carbon strategies, strengthening climate resilience, and using their trusted voice to advocate for policies that safeguard public health in a warming world. Their efforts are driving meaningful, measurable change across regions.

Among all participating institutions, the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals (GGHH) network is proud to recognize the 2025 Climate Champions in each region for their exceptional leadership in climate action. These institutions have demonstrated outstanding achievements across mitigation, resilience, and leadership during the last year, showing what health care can accomplish when it embraces sustainability as core to its mission.
The 2025 Climate Champions are:
- Fundació Sanitaria Mollet, Spain
- Hospital Clínica Bíblica, Costa Rica
- Northern Sydney Local Health District, Australia
- Rede D'Or São Luiz S.A., Brazil
- Shefaa Al-Orman, Egypt
