Global Green and Healthy Hospitals offers membership to the following types of institutions: hospitals, health care facilities, health systems (private, public, private for charity), and health, professional and academic organizations. Please find below descriptions of each category.
Low complexity – such as a District hospital providing acute care services, may include minor surgery, and can include normal childbirth but not caesarian section or other surgical intervention, serves as referral from primary care level.
Medium complexity – such as a Regional referral center. Basic specialties at the medium complexity level including: obstetrics, dental, radiology (xrays).
High complexity – such as a National (or International) referral center: services to include specialty care for cancer, cardiology, neurology or may provide only specialized care such as a Cardiology Hospital and include diagnostic services such as MRI and CAT scanning.
These members commit to:

making an ongoing effort at continuous improvement of their environmental performance;

and promoting environmental and public health at the comhmunity and policy level.
Community health centers; primary care facilities including: maternity clinics (up to 5 beds), dispensaries, stand-alone counseling and testing facilities; dental and physician offices; diagnostic laboratories; stand-alone same-day surgery centers; stand-alone pharmacies; research laboratories; nursing homes.

working with individual hospitals in their system as well as the system as a whole to implement at least two of its goals;

encouraging individual hospitals in the system to join the network;

making an ongoing effort at continuous improvement of their environmental performance; and promoting environmental and public health at the community and policy level.
These members commit to:

publicizing the agenda through their networks and encouraging hospitals and health systems to join.
