The Fachklinik Gaissach hospital has been progressively working on the reduction of the meat content in meals and improving the nutritional value of the servings, and has reduced food waste by 30% over three years.
Now in its second decade, the GGHH network is continuing its growth and showing no sign of slowing down, achieving membership milestones with each year that passes. We are pleased to announce that in July of 2022, GGHH reached its latest: 1,600 members in 79 countries who represent the interests of more than 60,000 hospitals and health centers.
Members of the GGHH network can now access Sustainable Procurement Checklist, a tool especially designed to help health care organizations design and implement sustainable procurement programs.
The Climate and Health Alliance / GGHH Pacific Region and Hunter New England Local Health District are bringing the 2022 Greening the Healthcare Sector Forum to Awabakal country, Newcastle, Australia.
In July, join the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals network for the launch of the Sustainable Procurement Checklist, a new tool exclusive for members. With the Checklist, organizations can assess their progress in developing a sustainable procurement program, compare results against best practices and identify priority areas to focus on.

Fiona Stanley Hospital is a major tertiary hospital in the South metropolitan area of Western Australia. Its Emergency Department is a fast-paced area with a high patient turnover. Most of the equipment used is disposable, thus producing significant amounts of waste.
The Australian region of the Global Green and Healthy Hospitals network (GGHH – Pacific) is delighted to welcome the Western Australia (WA) Department of Health as an official member of the network.
